Keep Rolling in Savings in 2008

Commuter Club Van

As gas prices rise, so does the value of a $50 Commuter Club vanpool seat. This means you can save even more money that you would be spending on gasoline. Thanks to state and federal subsidies as well as support from the Cumberland CID, Commuter Club can continue to offer vanpool participation for only $50 per month in 2008.

If you already ride a vanpool and you’re looking to save even more money, refer a new participant to the program. If you’re both still riding three months later, you will receive a $50 bonus from the program, thanks to The Clean Air Campaign. Just be sure to pre-register your referred rider prior to their joining the van by calling 770-859-2331.

While the price of participating in a Commuter Club vanpool will not change in the near future, some of the polices will be updated so Commuter Club can continue to offer a cutting edge program that provides excellent value to participants. Commuter Club will introduce new policies in early December.

Announcing October’s Commuter Rewards Winners

VISA Gift Cards

These 35 commuters each won a $25 Visa gift card just for logging their commutes. Commuter Rewards is easy — if you carpool, vanpool, ride transit, bicycle or telework, then you can join the list of Commuter Rewards winners who have an extra $25 in their wallets.

“Logging my commute takes only a few minutes a week — I have a bookmark in my browser to make it really easy. An added bonus is that even as more people join Commuter Rewards, we all still have the same probability of winning,” says John Jewell, Commuter Club carpooler, and Environmental Research Analyst at Interface Carpet.

Commuter Club eases Printpack Inc.’s move to Cumberland Galleria

Printpack Inc. Logo

When Printpack Inc., Georgia’s tenth-largest private company*, moved its headquarters from South Austell to Overlook Parkway this August, many of the company’s associates faced longer commutes. Seeking to minimize the adjustment for its employees, the packaging company contacted Commuter Club to inform employees about commute alternatives.

Commuter Club worked with Printpack associates to find commute alternatives that worked with their new office location and their personal schedules. Now that the company has moved, Printpack is continuing its partnership with Commuter Club.

Printpack is an environmentally focused company, so supporting carpooling and vanpooling is one of the many ways its associates can uphold this important vision. One new Printpack vanpool from Carroll County already makes the trek to Overlook and one more is in formation from Fayette County. Printpack also administers Guaranteed Ride Home, which allows their associates who use alternative commute modes to find a free ride home in case of emergencies.

For more information on these and other programs Commuter Club offers, contact Meredith Clinton at 770-859-2331 or mclinton@commuterclub.com.

Use Area Trails to Enjoy the Cooler Weather

Walkers on Bob Callan Trail

Looking for a way to enjoy the cooler weather? Get out on some local area trails. The Cumberland Galleria area has numerous trails for walking, running or biking, such as the recently completed Silver Comet Cumberland Connector Trail. This eastern extension of the Silver Comet Trail connects the Mavell Road Trail Head to the intersection of Cumberland Boulevard and Cobb Parkway.

You can enjoy the Bob Callan Trail, a 2.1 mile trail that begins on Interstate North Parkway and connects with the Chattahoochee National Recreation Center on Highway 41. Cumberland Galleria has more than 1,200 acres of woodlands, so get out there before or after work, or during your lunch break, and enjoy the cooler days of fall.
