Take Control of Your Commute

Take Control of Your CommuteGas prices are always fluctuating, traffic in Atlanta is unpredictable, and workdays are longer. It may seem that things are out of your control, but you can control the cost of your commute. If you commute 30 miles per workday, the gas, wear and tear, and depreciation costs total a surprising $313* per month! By carpooling with even just one passenger, these costs can be reduced to $157. Wouldn’t it be great to reduce the transportation line-item in your budget? Commuter Club can help with alternative transportation solutions. Visit our website or call us at (770) 859-2331.

*Estimate based on $0.52 per mile in the AAA 2007 Cost of Driving Report. Calculate your commute costs.

Gimme 5Gimme 5! Send us 5 and we’ll send you $50.

It’s easy! Refer five people to Commuter Club’s Ride Match program and receive $50.

Ride Match is a database of people who work in the region and are interested in commuting by carpool or vanpool. Encourage your friends and co-workers to take advantage of Commuter Club’s offerings by filling out the Ride Match form today.

Here are a few things to share with your friends and co-workers about Commuter Club:

  • Ride Match quickly identifies unique co-workers and neighbors who want to share the ride and cost of their commute.
  • There is no obligation to participate after you receive your matches.
  • The Commuter Club Ride Match program is free of charge to everyone!

Make sure your five referrals count by reviewing the specifics (don’t worry these are easy!):

  • All referrals must be NEW to the program. If they have already filled out a Ride Match form they don’t qualify as a referral.
  • All referrals must include your name on their form when signing up. We included a place just for your name; after all, we need to know who to send the money to!

Your friends and co-workers can fill out our paper application or send them this link. Remember to remind them to put your name in the “referred by” line. You’ll have $50 in no time.

The annual April Walk There! Challenge is here. When you sign up for this FREE program, Commuter Club will provide you with a digital pedometer, walking tips and a unique online log-in to get you started. Free pedometers* will be available at various events in the Cumberland Galleria area throughout March. Here is when and where you can pick up your free pedometer!

  • March 18: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Circle 75 Pond
  • March 20: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Interstate North Parkway Bob Callan Trailhead
  • March 25: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Galleria Fountain area
  • March 27: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Chick-fil-A on Paces Ferry Rd.

On Tuesday, April 1, wear your pedometer and start counting your steps. Once you log your steps online you will be eligible to win one of 88 iPod Shuffle music players that will be rewarded during April. Two iPod Shuffles will be distributed each week to the winners. The more days you log, the more chances you’ll have to win. The person who records the most steps during the entire month will win a weekend getaway to The Inn at Serenbe!

Even if you live a little too far from the office, walking to lunch or a local meeting is a great way to ease traffic and get exercise. All steps during the month of April count! This is a great opportunity to get out and enjoy some fresh April air while you give your car some time off.

So grab your friends and enjoy your walk!

*Pedometers given on a first come first serve basis, while supplies last.
