About
Commuter Club, Georgia’s first Transportation Management Association (TMA),
offers alternative commute services for businesses and professionals in the
Cumberland Galleria area. More than 1,000 individuals and nearly 100 corporate
partners benefit from Commuter Club’s assistance. As a free service to the local
community, all businesses located within the Cumberland CID boundaries have
access to Commuter Club services at no additional charge.
Services
Customized commute alternatives for individuals and employers: vanpools,
carpool implementation assistance, telework, guaranteed ride home
programs, discounted transit passes, cycling and walking promotion.
Commuter Club conducts seasonal carpool and vanpool campaigns to attract
new participants.
Benefits
Individual:
Flat rate $50 monthly vanpool seats, carpool assistance,
discounted transit passes, cash, gift and gas cards, telework assistance, faster
commutes, reduced stress, reduced wear and tear on personal vehicles, and
federal tax savings. Commuter Club participants save more than $7,000 annually
in commute costs.
Employer:
Increased morale and productivity from participants, strengthened
retention rates, parking solutions, reduced tardiness and absenteeism, reputation
for being an environmentally responsible business.
Environment:
Removes more than 1,000 cars off the road and eliminates
more than 50,000 vehicle miles daily, reduces traffic and improves air quality.
Commuter Club’s programs prevent the emission of more than 70 pounds of
harmful pollutants every day.
Administration
Commuter Club is a program of the Cumberland Community Improvement
District (CID). Commuter Club partners with the Clean Air Campaign, Atlanta
Regional Commission (ARC), Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA),
Environmental Protection Division (EPD) and Cobb County Transportation.
Commuter Club receives funding from the Cumberland CID, local and state DOTs
and federal funding.
Location
Cumberland Galleria office market in northwest Atlanta surrounding the I-75/I-
285 interchange in Cobb County, Ga.
Milestones
Removed 100 million vehicle miles from roadways, prevented emission of 229
tons of pollutants in the environment and saved commuters $5 million to-date.
Garnered 17 local, national and international awards since inception for its
recognized leadership and innovative programs.
Recognized as the best TMA in the country in 2001 by the National
Association for Commuter Transportation.
Designated as a Best Workplaces for CommutersSM district by the US EPA
(since 2003) for meeting a National Standard of Excellence.
More than $20,000 has been paid out to individuals as incentives, in
partnership with the Clean Air Campaign.
