Concept 3
The Transit Planning Board (TPB) has developed Concept 3 which serves as a regional, multi-modal transit network that:
- Focuses on connectivity and efficiency
- Ensures travel time competitiveness and reliability
- Connects dispersed populations to employment centers
- Creates the transit habit in emerging corridors
- Supports local/circulator bus networks and land use policies and patterns
This system is expected to bring the following benefits:
- Improved air quality
- Increased system efficiency and capacity
- Greater system flexibility for unexpected and/or special events
- National and international competitive business environment
- Enhanced regional competitiveness for federal funding
