Mass transit is a better way.Logos

As an alternative to driving to and from work, mass transportation — riding the bus or taking the train — offers many advantages. And today’s soaring gas prices make the bus and rail systems a better way to get there. Just a few of the benefits:

Cobb Community Transit (CCT)

CCT operates bus service to many businesses in the Cumberland area. Transfers are free when connecting to local CCT routes as well as to MARTA. Contact the CCT at (770) 427-4444 or learn more on the CCT Web site.

MARTA

CCT connects to MARTA at the Dunwoody, Arts Center and H.E. Holmes rail stations.

Gwinnett County Transit

Gwinnett County Transit offers express bus service that travels directly to downtown Atlanta with no stops and connects to MARTA. The bus service includes six routes using the HOV lanes on I-85. Contact (770) 822-7400.

C-Tran

Clayton County’s C-Tran bus service travels directly to downtown Atlanta with no stops and connects to MARTA. (404) 463-3000

GRTA Xpress

The Georgia Regional Transportation Authority offers regional express bus service, including service to Cumberland. (404) 463-4782

Future Transit

The I-75 corridor and the I-285 corridor will have improved transit service in the future. The Georgia Regional Transportation Authority and the Atlanta Regional Commission are currently studying these heavily congested roadways in order to determine solutions to help ease traffic problems.

Both projects are in the study phase at this time. The specific technology (rail, bus, etc.) will be determined along with the travel routes. Local Cumberland leaders are deeply involved in the planning to ensure an integrated solution to the community’s needs.
